1.You may want to consider what you want to argue about the topic so that you can properly decide which sources can help you argue your point. If you know your topic thesis, only choose sources that can help you argue it.
2. What i want to argue about: My topic is guns in America and mainly gun control, and I chose it because I live in a country with no middle ground in my opinion when it comes to the strong culture for guns and the right to bear arms in America. Also i believe that this is one of the most important topics to discuss because in a way guns are connected to violent acts in America such as school shootings, police brutality etc. However it’s important to keep the fundamentals within the 2nd amendment while coming up with solutions to help us citizens who are on the fence with guns. So there can be the middle ground that America needs when it comes to gun control. What I believe needs to be done is first off a consistent background check for gun purchasers, the banning of unnecessary deadly firearms and finally more education on guns themselves because at the end of the day we can’t solve a problem if no one is willing to understand it.
3. Create a topic thesis for my argument so my sources are connected to my topic and argument.
4.You must gather 7-10 secondary sources, not counting the primary source (the video you chose from the list) which also needs to be included in your Working Bibliography. The Working Bibliography is sort of a “shopping list”, so it needs to have many items from which to choose. Because some items will be unavailable and others may turn out to be useless, you need options. Do not throw away listings for works you do not use until the paper is complete. As your paper evolves, sometimes you need to go back to discarded sources.
5.Video i choose. Here is the link for my video/ source that is my primary source.
“After Newtown | After Newtown: Guns in America | Episode 3 | PBS.” PBS.org, Accessed 19 Sept. 2020. Retrieved from https://www.pbs.org/video/after-newtown-guns-america/
6.You will structure the Working Bibliography exactly like a Works Cited page. However, it is not a Works Cited page because every source will not be used in your final paper. For the actual paper you will choose the best 5-8 sources from the original 7-10 that will be listed on your Working Bib. Be sure to choose the best sources during the time you have been allotted to search for sources.
7. .Your sources should be a mixture of academically qualified works: books, periodicals (i.e. newspaper, magazines, journals: (daily, weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, annually.), electronic sources, etc.
8. only choose sources that are good and scholarly and easy to use for my paper
