Book Discussion Forum Prompt (20 points)
NOTE: The forum is broken down into 4 groups (A, B, C, D). Only post and reply in your assigned forum group (see Book Discussion Forum Groups sheet under Week 14 to find your group).
The goal of the Book Discussion Forum is to help you brainstorm possible topics for your Final Book Analysis. Additionally, it is an opportunity to assess what you are learning up to this point about the book and engage you with others in discussing the book. You should all be finishing the book Evicted and have some topics/themes that will hopefully be developed by engaging in this Book Discussion Forum.
Task:
Post (10 points): In your original post, choose a topic within the book that is of interest to you. Write about your understanding of the topic based on what you have read from the book, Evicted. You may use short quotes from the book to support your response. The book has various topics/themes that you can focus on, the more specific the focus, the better because it will later help you develop/frame your book analysis. In your original post, specify your topic, write about your understanding of the topic based on the book, and at the end create at least 1 question, relating to your topic, for other class members to respond to. The question can revolve around any area within your topic: i.e. asking classmates for other examples in the book related to your topic or clarification on a part of the book related to your topic. Other students will be replying to your question and will provide more depth within your topic.
Reply (10 points): After you post, then respond to two other class members (see the question in their post). Responses to others should reflect your effort in responding to their question and adding more depth to the topic/conversation. Remember, all of you are reading the book Evicted and all of you are catching different aspects of the book; therefore, collaborating with each other will help your own understanding of the various topics within the book.
Length: At least 2 full paragraphs, do not forget to include at least 1 question at the end of your post for others to respond to, check for clarity in writing.
Replies to Others: Due Wednesday 12/9 @ 11:59pm.
Length: At least 1 full paragraph that responds to question posed by others in their post . You must reply to two other students.
Reminder: Be respectful in all your interactions with other students in this online course. I expect everyone to abide by the class expectations articulated in class syllabus.
