Caring for the Nguyens
At the end of each module, you will be answering questions related to the family of the Nguyens. This is done as an in-class activity with some discussion that will be submitted for a grade. This is expected to be in APA format and to have sources utilized as necessary. You will be following this family throughout the course of NUR 215 and will be continually answering questions related to their care as you progress. Please review the “Meet the Nguyens” page at the front of your Basic Nursing textbook for an overview of the family.
Module 1: Chapter 1
Caring for the Nguyens
Review the opening scenario in the front of the book. On Nam Nguyen’s preliminary visit to the Family Medicine Center, he is examined by Zach Miller, MSN, FNP-BC.
How would you respond to Nam if he is concerned that he is being examined by someone who is “just a nurse”?
What factors might cause Mr. Nguyen to question care given by “a male nurse”?
