After being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse on February 22, 2019, R. Kelly turned himself in to a Chicago police precinct. He spent three nights in the Cook County jail before posting ten percent (i.e. $100,000) of his one million dollar bail. After posting bail, R. Kelly appeared in court to plead not guilty to the 10 counts. It is alleged that he sexually abused four women, three of whom were underage at the time of the abuse.
