Keystone Project- Group Proposal
Each class member will submit a written proposal for the formation of a group appropriate to the school counseling setting. Design an original plan for a group to be utilized at the school level you plan to intern and be employed.
This paper is limited to 10-12 typed pages excluding references and cover page. Papers should be in APA format including complete cover page, abstract, page headers and numbering, title, double-spacing, font, margins, etc. In text citations or reference page as appropriate.
Your proposal must include the following components:
Literature Review (8-10 scholarly references)
Rationale for the group (need and justification)
Objectives of the group
Intended outcomes
Group Action Plan
Description of population to be served
Site of meetings and size of group
Timeframe for group (frequency, duration, length of sessions)
Selection criteria for group members (age, homogeneous/heterogeneous membership, etc.).
Pre-group Preparation
Announcement and recruitment of group members (do not just say email teachers)
Parental informed consent form
Screening procedures and preparation of group members
Group structure and format, including one structured group lesson plan that will include the following:
session description;
group goal for the day
objective(s) that will help measure degree of success in achieving today’s group goal;
previous group issue(s), identified group member(s) or group activity that the group leader needs to be concerned about; are those issue(s), member(s), and/or activities addresses and connected to and within today’s structured group lesson;
materials needed;
leader instructions to group;
leader instruction to self;
clearly typed script (if needed)
