How do Orwell’s thoughts about the war and its chances for success also change as the months pass? Be sure to describe the characteristics and behaviors of the people, and the soldiers, at various stages during Orwell’s time in Spain. When explaining the characteristics and behaviors of the people Orwell interacts with, explore his word choice and the tone Orwell achieves through his writing. What can we learn about Orwell and his political commitments from the way he shares information?
