Invent a social science research question, and describe how you would apply your two research strategies chosen from #1 (survey research and ethnography) to this question. Provide all the details you feel are relevant, paying particular attention to the parameters of a good research question appropriate to your strategies, as described in our textbook (Wilkinson et al.) (e.g. variables, concepts, research questions/objectives, ethics, links to social forces/theories, data sheets, etc). Your answer must also draw upon the relevant “example articles” that I have provided for each research strategy. You should write at least 300 words on each strategy. Do not write more than 500 words describing each research approach – so your submitted test must not be more than 1000 words long . Write in essay form (do not use bullets/point form or keep that to an absolute minimum).
Introductions should be kept to a minimum. Conclusions are unnecessary. You should briefly “compare and contrast” the relative benefits/drawbacks of the two strategies you discuss (as related to your research question). Be sure to make your citations in-line (APA style) and clear – you will only have three sources (Wilkinson + 2 example articles).
