An annotated bibliography is a list of the sources you have read for the research project at hand.
The citations are formal MLA citations, but these citations are followed by annotations for each
text. The annotated bibliography is order exactly like a Works Cited page.
Specific Directions:
Each annotation will be a paragraph long, and each paragraph will be approximately 100-
150 words.
You MUST follow the MLA. There is information on MLA in numerous places, among
them the Language Center, The Bedford Handbook, and me. If your paper is not in the
MLA format, the grade will be reduced—note the MLA section on the rubric.
Each annotation paragraph will contain a short summary of the important points in the
text; it will also contain a statement or two on who would use the research and why, and
why you have included the text and how you plan to use the text in your research.
SPECIFICATIONS:
LENGTH: There is no specific length of this paper as the length will be determined by the
number of sources you include.
SOURCES: You must have at least ten (10) sources for this paper. All of these sources must
come from legitimate college-level sources.
