Media Career Comparison Presentation & Essay
This assignment has two parts.
A) You will research and write an essay that describes and compares the
path of a specific media career here in the United States and in another country.
B) You will present the findings of your research to class in a concise PowerPoint, short video, infographic or other form of media. Your essay will be the basis of your presentation. Your presentation will presented the information in a condenses format.
You will cover the path to the career you’ve selected, including required education and experience. You will also cover pay, working conditions, positive and negative aspects of the job etc. In the international portion of your essay and presentation, I suggest you profile an actual media professional from the country you’ve chosen. If possible, try to interview someone from that country or someone with familiarity about media professions in that country. If you are unable to interview someone, try to locate first-person information. You may find an existing interview with someone or video of someone in the country you’ve chosen that describes the career.
Here are some countries to consider: India, UK, Japan, Cuba, Canada, Nigeria, France, Senegal, Russia, China, and Mexico. Of course you are not limited to these countries. Feel free to choose another country of interest to you.
The essay and presentations are due May 15. You will submit the essay in Blackboard and post your presentation in a designated spot in the Discussion Board.
