Assignment Description:
What is Revictimization? How is the pattern created? How does someone break the pattern of revictimization? This project will be focused on the restoration, healing, and/or recovery aspects for female victims and them bring to a place of empowerment and freedom. Students will research and discuss an alternative method and come up with their own program/method to break the cycle of revictimization. This project will focus on how a victim can become a survivor and create a new normal in their life. This project is not limited to the discussion of how the victim’s friends and loved ones are impacted and it is important to discuss how they too can gain restoration after victimization has occurred. This project is a creative project which students will present live on Zoom. You are allowed to be creative with what you use to present your materials, it must include visual aids and an outline to be turned in to me.
Project Discussion Highlights:
* Research the pattern of revictimization
* How is the pattern created?
* How does someone break the pattern of revictimization?
* Briefly discuss a crime that a human can be a victim of: (sexual assault, domestic violence, elder abuse, child abuse, etc.)
* Impact of crime on the victim, family, friends, and society
* What is physical, emotional, mental impact?
* Helpful Victim Services
* Describe Alternative Restoration/Recovery Method
* Discuss transformation of Victim to Survivor
* Why is it important for Victims to recover?
* How do victims create a “New Normal”
***You can discuss anything from the above suggestions, however, you are not limited to these ideas, be creative…be unique….you can use anything you learned in class from the materials Ms. Manning presents and guest speakers***
Proper Format & Guidelines:
3-5 minutes of speaking presenting your materials live on zoom to your fellow classmates
Visual Aids (power point, google slides, videos, pictures, etc.)
Typed outline of your presentation with references (minimum of 3 outside resources, APA, MLA, Chicago format)

This project is worth 55 points. Outline is due on/or before the date of your presentation. If outline is not received before you present it will result in point deductions. To receive full credit, you must turn in a typed outline, present some sort of visual aid, and speak (your voice) for 3-5 minutes, and when you are done, ask if audience has any questions. You will be timed during your presentation. It is important not to present less than 3 minutes, and not go over 5 minutes. At the end of your presentation I expect you to ask, “does anyone have any questions?” There will be about 1-2 minutes available for questions this does not count as part of your presentation time and this is not considered going over on time. It gives the next person time to prepare their presentation.
