(1) Discuss first–in one short paragraph–the main debate between absolutists and relativists. Explain how each of them understands truth, and give an example. Please explain in your own words, rather than copying what others have said.
(2) Compare and contrast the absolutist philosophy of Plato with the relativist philosophy of Descartes. Once you have done this, show how we see the debate between absolutists and relativists unfold in our society today. Who are today’s absolutists? Who are representative of relativism.
(3) Once you have complete (1) and (2), please address the following question: which do you think is more correct? Absolutism or relativism? If you think absolutism, why? If relativism, why?
