This project has to be typed.
Create the table (fond size 13+) for the list of the stars below:
1. Rigel A
2. Vega
3. Sirius B
4. Barnard’s star
5. Betelgeuse
6. Polaris
7. Spica
8. Deneb
9. Altair
10. Proxima Centauri
11. Alpha Centauri A
12. Lucy star
13. Sun
The first column of the table is the name of the stars above, the second column is luminosity L/Lsun, the third column is effective temperature (K), fourth column is spectral class, and the last column will be the stage in star’s evolution (main-sequence, red giant, white dwarf, etc.) . The whole table has to be on the same page of the project.
Make a graph.
You have to create the logarithmic graph for the H-R diagram in Excel. The Y-axis varies from 0.0001 to 1000000 L/Lsun, the X-axis is the effective temperature of stars in the range from 40000K to 1250K (reverse).
Plot all of the above stars in Excel on the graph accompanied by the labels (typed) with star’s name. Also show the main-sequence on the graph.

Calculate the luminosity of Betelgeuse, using distance modulus. The equations needed are shown below:
M = m + 5 – 5log(d), where M is absolute magnitude of Betelgeuse, m is apparent magnitude of Betelgeuse, d is the distance to Betelgeuse in parsecs.
L/Lsun = 10-0.4(M-Msun), where L/Lsun is the luminosity of Betelgeuse, Msun =4.83.
