Part 1 – Regional Factors Responsible for the Ice Storms:
Use the links above and any other sources you might locate to describe the regional geographic factors that contributed to the two ice storms (latitude, elevation, weather etc). Your one page report should include specific information about the geographic regional conditions in Ottawa in 1998 and southern Ontario in 2013. Feel free to use graphics to assist with your report.

Use the activity links to read some of the responses from the people of Toronto and the surrounding area that were impacted by the ice storm. Create a brief yet concise journal typical of someone from December 20, 2013 to December 30, 2013 (minimum of 8 entries). Be sure to include the main challenges that people would face in Toronto in the month of December with regard to heat, electricity, food, transportation etc. You may find it beneficial to examine the link for the 1998 ice storm for some ideas as long as it still fits the facts of the 2013 ice storm. You may also use graphics to supplement your journal entries.
