When you are at the exhibition select any painting, drawing, photograph, print or sculpture on display and answer all of the following questions in 2 pages typed, 1.5 spaced essay. Failure to address the following questions in the paper will result in no credit given. Choose another artwork if you do not think you can write enough about your first choice.
The required format and citing is MLA. If you are confused about proper citing or format, please use google. Include a picture of your artwork.*Remember, if you use any found information in your paper, you must use some type of citing format.

Name of Artist, Title or Artwork, Date of Artwork. (Artwork are titles italicized.)
What is the movement or time period? Discuss the context (what was going on in society during this time) of the work.
What is the media?
Why did you choose this artwork to discuss? (Subjective response required)
Why do you think the museum and scholarly community consider this artwork important? (Objective response)
Compare your chosen work to one work, from a different culture and time period, that we have discussed in class so far. What are the similarities between the two and what is the reason for the similarities.

2nd paragraph – ID information: Artist, title of work, year, and movement.
3rd paragraph – Media: be detailed since we just finished a chapter on media.
4th paragraph – Why did you pick this work?
5th paragraph – Why did the scholarly community pick this work? This will require citing.
6th paragraph – Comparison to a work from class.
