Write a 600 word paper. You must complete the gallery paper before you continue to Module 3.
Visit a gallery or museum and write about an artwork you find there. It must be an artwork you have seen at a gallery or museum this semester. Include the name of the museum or gallery in your paper. You should spend most of your paper discussing the elements and principles of design as it pertains to the artwork in question. Try to cover as many of them as you can. They are discussed in chapters 3 – 7 in our textbook. Please see “How do I write the gallery paper” at the top of this page for more information on the paper.You must submit a photo that YOU have taken of the artwork (ask the museum/gallery staff if photos are permitted before taking a picture). If the gallery or museum will not permit photos of the artwork, you can take a picture of a brochure/catalog from the museum AND selfie standing outside the museum. Submit the photo with the paper. General requirements: Papers should be at least 600 words in length. Paper can be formatted in Chicago, MLA or APA style. The style is less important than maintaining a consistent format throughout the paper. A list of references at the end is necessary only if outside references have been used in the paper. No smaller than a 10 point font should be used. Papers should be double spaced.
