For this Assignment, you will create a fact sheet that will follow the same format as the one you created in Week 6. For this fact sheet, you will select a disorder affecting women’s or men’s health. Be sure to incorporate any feedback you received on the Week 6 Fact sheet assignment.
To prepare:
Select one of the following disorders:
prostate cancer
polycystic ovarian syndrome
breast cancer
cervical cancer
Review this week’s Resources, including the clinical care standards and guidelines specific to the disorder you selected.
Consider resulting maladaptive responses for patients with your disorder.
Assignment:
Create a 1-page fact sheet on your selected disorder in which you address the following:
Briefly describe the pathophysiology of the disorder you selected. Be specific.
Explain how the maladaptive and physiological responses of the disorder might differ.
Describe the types of drugs that might be prescribed to patients to treat symptoms associated with this disorder you selected and explain why. Be specific and provide examples. Use the Learning Resources and/or best available evidence from current literature to support your explanation.
Reminder: The School of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The Sample Paper provided at the Walden Writing Center provides an example of those required elements (available at https://academicguides.waldenu.edu/writingcenter/templates). All papers submitted must use this formatting.
